Women’s

North Coast Raiders Hockey Club Women hosts teams that play on both turf and grass surfaces, catering to a wide range of skill and fitness levels. Our top teams compete in the elite Premier competition against some of the nation's best hockey players. At the other end of the spectrum, we have teams in a Saturday afternoon league for women who prioritize fun and enjoy a more relaxed pace.

We offer supportive teams for women returning to hockey after a break or those who want to play alongside their daughters in a mother-daughter team. Additionally, we have several Masters teams who play midweek on turf.

It truly is #Raiders4Life!

Women’s Premier 1s (Turf)

The Premier 1 competition of the Hockey WA Competition is arguably one of the best amateur competitions in the world. Our squad is a mixture of international, national, state representatives and future stars. Our squad is integrated into the club and help promote hockey and #Raiders through junior coaching, guest appearances and school recruitment. We continue to strive for success on and off the pitch, pursuing opportunities that will drive victories and secure the squad's future. Training is twice a week and games are generally fixtured on weekends.

Women’s Premier 2s (Turf)

The Reserve (Premier 2) competition in the Hockey WA league serves as a pathway to the Premier 1s, where senior players can guide and advise the stars of tomorrow. This is a great development squad for the next generation to be exposed to the superior skills and training intensity of international and national players. It is also an opportunity for senior players to enjoy top-level hockey without the immense pressure of the elite competition.  The squad generally trains with the Premier 1s team twice a week. Games are often scheduled to complement the P1s times.

Women’s 3s (Turf)

The Women’s 3s serve as a key development team within the women’s section, balancing ambition and flexibility. Some players are honing their skills and pushing for opportunities in the 2s, while others enjoy competitive hockey without the full commitment required by the 1s and 2s. Talented juniors are often invited to join the 3s, providing them with valuable exposure to the pace and intensity of match-day seniors turf hockey.

Women’s 4s (Turf)

The Women’s 4s compete in Division 8 of the Hockey WA Competition. This social and welcoming squad is made up of a core group of players who enjoy a reasonable level of hockey and prefer to play on turf. This is the perfect grade for juniors transitioning to senior women’s hockey, recreational club members, and some of the club’s most senior players. It’s not uncommon to see families playing together in these teams. The team’s goal is to earn promotion, continue growing as a cohesive unit and mentor junior players as they step up to compete in the club’s higher-level teams.

Metro 1s and 2s Grass

The Saturday afternoon scheduling of the Metros grade is perfect for women who need a regular time for their hockey. This is an extremely family oriented grade, with littlies often being looked after on the sidelines and mums playing with their teenage daughters. This is a great grade for players who have lost their fitness (or youth!) or are coming back from injury. There are always lots of laughs when you’re in a Metros side! The team’s main objective is to have fun whilst being competitive. There is no requirement to train but players are welcome to join 4s turf training if they wish.
